How to Open Encrypted Email Messages
This article will provide you with instructions on how to open an encrypted email message.
If you have an Office 365 or Microsoft Live account:
Note: If you received the encrypted email message in an email address that is associated with an existing Microsoft Live account, you can use your Microsoft Live login credentials to open the message.
Step 1) Download the email message and open it.

Step 2) Click the Sign In link.

Step 3) Enter your Office 365 or Microsoft Live username and password, click Sign In and the message will open to view.
If you do not have an Office 365 or existing Microsoft Live account:
Note: If you do not have an Office 365 or existing Microsoft Live account, the following steps will instruct you on setting up a Microsoft Live account to access the encrypted email message.
Step 1) In your browser, go to https://signup.live.com to sign up for a new Microsoft Live account.
Step 2) Fill out the Create an account form. You’ll use your existing email address in the User name field. Then, click the Create account button when you have completed the form.

Step 3) You’ll be presented with a summary page. Review the information for accuracy and click Verify your email address.

Step 4) Open the verification email and click Verify to confirm your email address.

Step 5) Once you have verified your email address, go back and open the message.html file that you started with. You can now use your Microsoft Live account to sign in and view the encrypted message.

Using the One-Time Passcode instead of an Office 365 or Microsoft Live account:
If you do not have an Office 365 or Microsoft Live account, you also have the option to use a one-time passcode to view the encrypted message. The following steps will guide you through the process.
Step 1) Download the email message and open it.

Step 2) Click the Use a one-time passcode link.

Step 3) You will receive an email with the passcode in your inbox. Go to your email inbox and retrieve the passcode.

Step 4) Go back to your browser and enter the passcode into the appropriate field. Then, click Continue and you will see the encrypted message.
